Full Bio:

Tri is a business-oriented, hands-on attorney with many years of business and legal experience working at law firms and being an entrepreneur in both the legal and corporate business sectors. His legal experiences include all areas of commercial transactions including securities, corporate, mergers/acquisitions and general business legal issues.

Tri started his legal career with Andrews Kurth LLP in the Corporate and Securities section. While working at Andrews Kurth, he worked on a wide variety of corporate and securities matters, including the acquisition of power plants, initial public offerings, and various general corporate matters.

Prior to joining Philips & Reiter, Tri founded a transactional law firm to provide legal services to start-up and developing businesses, entrepreneurs and business owners. He also advised clients on matters such as entity formation and general corporate matters, debt and equity financing (investment vehicles and conduit and bridge loans), acquisition and disposition of equity and assets, acquisition and disposition of commercial real estate, and commercial contracts and distributorship agreements.

Tri also has ownership interests in several businesses, giving him insight and perspective into the business owners’ and entrepreneurs’ concerns, considerations and passion when he provides legal counsel and advice. Tri continues to be an entrepreneur in such areas as real estate development, commercial construction and import and export. He continues to be well informed to best counsel his clients.

Tri has served as an Associate Municipal Court Judge for the City of Houston and a board member of the Houston Lawyer Referral Service and the Asian/Pacific American Heritage Association and as an officer of the Asian American Bar Association – Houston. He is one of the co-founders of the Houston Business and Tax Law Journal of the University of Houston Law Center.
